Fantastic stay!! Would most definitely recommend. Beautiful location, clean and tidy, everything you needed. The hosts were very welcoming and accommodating. Food hampers were fresh at tasty. I’ve had my eye on this place for ages after seeing so many amazing reviews on their Facebook page. The perfect opportunity arose as our child was staying over night at respite so myself and my husband jumped at the rare chance and booked our stay. We stayed for two nights on the Kingfisher narrow boat and it was lovely. So private, quiet and romantic and the surroundings we’re just perfect. It has it’s own private hot tub and you’re right on the canal with amazing views. It was definitely a different experience staying on a narrow boat but one that all should try if you get the chance, it has everything you need for your stay plus extra luxuries. We also hired out the private BBQ cabin which is included with your stay and it was perfect, so cozy and completely private just for you to use. We would definitely recommend this place and would love to go back and stay in one of the cabins if possible. Thank you Hawthorn Hideaway for a fantastic weekend, you really do have a hidden gem x

What can I say me and my partner came here for the first time yesterday. To the kingfisher boat . Amazing from start to finish. The boat wasn’t quiet ready when we arrived but we was a little early. Asked see if we would like a cup of tea while we waited ect. Made us feel so welcome definitely recommend and definitely will be back. Thank you again

We had an amazing time on the Kingfisher, it was an honour to get to drive it up and down Chesterfield canal! Skipper was a pleasure to be around and he instilled me with the utmost confidence to command the vessel for the day and deal with the locks. Would definitely come again!

My wife and I stayed here on our mini-moon and it was what I expected. We stayed on the narrow boat as neither of us had previously and wanted to experience it.

Location was lovely and the canal was clear.

The owner lent us his spare fishing gear so my wife and I gave it a go and it was fun and gave us something different to do. All I would say is beware of the pirate chickens they will board your vessel and hold you ransom for scraps. 😂
