I had always wanted to try narrow boating, and from sitting at my computer in rural Australia, and right through the experience on the Grand Union Canal, Steve and the team were absolutely wonderful. All questions were answered clearly, our lovely little “Ragweed” was spotlessly clean and well maintained, guidance about how to use the boat and negotiate locks was clear and unrushed, and all the support we needed was available to us. The whole team was friendly and supportive and I would recommend them without hesitation. Next time we have the opportunity to visit the UK, booking another trip with Steve will be my first priority. Thanks to all the team for a truly wonderful time. Looking forward to seeing you again.

We’ve just returned from 5 days on Tasselweed and have had one of our best holidays to date. Absolutely beautiful countryside and we met many friendly, helpful neighbours along the way. Every day was different and it’s an ideal break for those who enjoy a bit of adventure mixed in with chilling out onboard. Grand Union Narrowboat Holidays proprietor, Steve, is as adept a tutor as he is an owner. He puts in a lot of time to ensure you can pilot the boat, moor and deal with locks. For dog or cat owners (we took our cat), it’s v pet friendly. The narrowboat itself was clean, comfortable, fully equipped and (you may like to know!) unsinkable. We had 3 kids with us around 12/13 yrs old and they thoroughly enjoyed the experience, as did cat. Highly recommended and we will be back for more!

We spent a week on Tasselweed and had a fabulous relaxing break. Steve was a delight to deal with and gave a full briefing of the boat and it’s capabilities. Everything needed for a self catering holiday was provided, from a tin opener to a dishwasher.

Even our cat enjoyed herself!

So helpful from the start. We had an amazing week on the Grand Union. Our barge was perfect for four adults. I have already recommended to friends about this wonderful excursion. Wondering along at 3mph is just the perfect way to relax.
