A great day out for all the family and inexpensive too. There are some great walks along the 3 canals that converge at the Basin. The Museum is interesting and the Café is good. There are plenty of free parking spaces here too.

We had an excellent visit to the Portland Basin museum. It focuses on local history including cultural and industrial.

It includes activities and areas for children and a cafe that does a lovely cappuccino.

A great museum and entry is FREE!

Interesting spot for an hour or so. Exhibits and information focuses on several aspects of local history both social and industrial. Cafe on site and outdoor area by the basin is a good area to view canal comings and goinds.
