spent 5 days relaxing on the GUC aboard 45′ NB “Explorer”. very clean boat, easy to unload from car to boat… Dean made the hand over a simple task and enthusiastically answered any questions. even the dog was happy with a toy and treats. if its your first time the locks are easy to operate, especially if there are two boats going up or down. certainly recommend Napton NB in the future. thanks for a great vacation

We hired a two berth narrow boat called “Laura” and spent a very good week heading along the Oxford Canal. The boat was comfortable and well equipped with good storage space but the bed was a king size which was too big for the bedroom which left little room to move through to the front deck area. The staff at Napton Marina were very dog friendly. They gave us a dog goody bag on arrival. Our boat broke down on our way back through the Napton flight of locks but an engineer came out to fix the problem quickly within the hour. Thank you for this it was much appreciated!

We’ve hired 5 narrowboats in the past and this was by far, the cleanest, nicest boat we’ve hired. We had it for 2 weeks and did the Leicester ring. The staff were all really nice and the guy who did the boat tour before we left the marina was brilliant. We’re already looking at next year and hopefully be back to hire another one from Napton Narrowboats.

An enjoyable base from which to start your canal adventure. We went from Napton to Oxford over about 10 days navigating our way through the busy Cropredy festival. There were locks aplenty, a few tight turns and a village pub or two. You are never bored on the canal, it’s quite physical but entirely enjoyable. Although you don’t travel very far you see a great deal and start to slip gently into a slower way of life. The boat was in very good condition and reasonably well equipped for the journey. Once you get the hang of it piloting the boat is relatively straightforward. We came across a few others who went too fast which caused problems but generally speaking people on the canals are very friendly and look out for each other. We went in the middle of summer and so paid peak prices, this was a very expensive holiday, which is worth weighing up when booking.

Had a lovely 7 days on a very nice clean tidy craft called Constance. The weather was beautiful the scenery and locks were great. The staff very friendly and helpful at the boat yard. Would def use this firm again. First Class
